Hi! My name is Emma Oxenby Wohlfart and I’m the webmaster, administrator, and primary writer behind PastPresenters.com.
I am a twenty-something dog-owner and wife with the slightly quirky job title History Muse, because I think history, like all writing, should be inspired and worked at like an art. Also, having a slightly cocky job title inspires me to work harder to live up to it.
At university I started out with big plans for specialising in the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict. I was going to be all serious and political and tell everyone how misunderstood that region really is. Somehow, I came out of it with a concentration in Classical Archaeology and Celtic Civilisation. A testament, I’m sure, to my primary school Wood Workshop teacher who taught me about Pompeii, and my secondary school Swedish teacher who felt strangely compelled to teach us the difference between Ionic and Doric columns.
I currently live in southern Sweden with my musician husband and that spoiled brat of a dog I hinted at earlier. I blog, I freelance, I garden, I photograph, I cook and I read a whole lot.
